Larry Brogdon

Executive Director, Energy Institute
Partner, Four Sevens Oil Company

Larry Brogdon has been a practicing geologist since 1974. Most of that time involved in petroleum exploration and production. Most recently he was a partner with Four Sevens Oil Company located in Fort Worth, Texas. Four Sevens sold their Barnett Shale properties in 2004 to XTO Energy. In 2006 they sold their newly acquired Barnett acreage and production to Chesapeake Energy and did the same again in 2007. For the last two semesters Larry has taught the "Prospect to Production" class through the TCU Energy Institute. He presently is Executive Director of the Energy Instititute and is Chairman of the Board of directors.

Dr. Ken Morgan, Ph.D.

Director, Energy Institute, Associate Dean

Dr. Ken Morgan is Professor of Geology and Associate Dean of the College of Science & Engineering at Texas Christian University. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering and a Ph.D. in Land Resources from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Dr. Morgan began his career at TCU in 1978 and became Director of the newly established Center for Remote Sensing and Energy Research in 1981. While Director of this Center, he supervised research projects, taught classes, consulted with more than 70 companies and published numerous papers on the application of NASA satellite technology for mapping earth resources. In 1983 he married his wife Tamie, a TCU alum of the geology department.

Ken has traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia and the Middle East conducting conferences, workshops, seminars and guest lectures on the science and technology related to energy exploration and resource management.

Dr. Morgan recently became the Director for the new TCU Energy Institute. In this roll, he is organizing new classes, seminars and workshops related to our energy resources from the Barnett Shale to new technologies for future energy supplies.

Veronica Merrill

Administrative Assistant, TCU Energy Institute

Veronica Merrill came to TCU in March of 1998. She began her career in the Registrar's Office her first year followed by eight consecutive years with the Dept. of Computer Science.

In the fall of 2008 Veronica became the administrative assistant to Dr. Ken Morgan, Director of the TCU Energy Institute; along with managing over 230 members of the TCU Energy Club and 24 board members of the TCU Energy Institute, all distinguished leaders of the energy industry.

Veronica's overall knowledge in budget management, event coordinating, public relations, web-site management and people skills have made her a true asset to the Energy Club and Energy Institute.
